While this is a gorgeous camp in the mountains of north Georgia with plenty of shower houses; the dining hall services and food for summer camp are pretty bad. Women also have to share a bathroom with men as there are no separate ladies facilities. There are private bathrooms with showers in them, outlets, a mirror, sink, and counter for adults leaders but they are used by both sexes :-(. You don't have to wait for a shower though and the white water and horse back riding adventures offerred during summer camp are awesome :-)! The aquatics staff are awesome also but we had 4 days straight of nearly non-stop rain. The canvas tents all leaked mostly with condensation dripping constantly from the interior metal frames. This could be solved by covering them with tarps or thin plastic used by builders and landscapers but you better bring your own because the office does not care about complaints about leaking tents :-(.
In the dining room, they don't ask what you want, you simply get all warm foods offered during that meal whether you want them or not creating unnecessary waste. There is also a separate adult area, which usually has a huge line, that offers mostly condiments and produce for salads that should be offerred to the scouts as well even if it means charging a bit more. Scouts were often hungry after meals and would supplement with a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. One night we had a mystery meat and the line at the PB&J bar was often long. The scoutmaster steak dinner night was excellent though :-).
