5 Star youth or large group & family tent sites
For you new scout moms who have never camped, START here :-)! Of course the rest will shy by comparison as least as far as facilities are concerned from here on out as the only thing that makes this "camping" is sleeping in a tent. The family sites are expensive for tent camping to book the group site with scouts as you only need 20. You do have to book a ways out, 6-8 months out at least. You also get what you pay for. The bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities are all under one air conditioned roof. They are NICE and constantly being cleaned. They are spotless, cleaner than my bathroom at home and I use a biweekly cleaning service. There are plenty of benches, counters, and clean floors to place your clothing and/or toiletry items on. There is electricity in the bathrooms and at each family campsite as well as multiple spots in the group site. There's volley ball and tether ball for the kids at each site. You can rent a golf cart and charge it at your site each night, expensive, or just use the Disney bus transportation all around the campground included in your site price. We never waited for a bus more than 15 min. There are paved bike trails all over as well so bring your bikes and fishing supplies :-).
There is an awesome pool with a waterslide, little ones water play area, hot tub, and tennis courts next to it with structured activities run by Disney staff for the kids throughout the day. The pool is also staffed with lifeguards open until 11pm. Each night the outdoor amphitheatre has a campfire sing-a-long with Chip and Dale then shows a free Disney movie. You can also buy s'more kits there or bring your own and cook them on the big group bon fire. The kids LOVE it :-)! You can also see the fireworks from the nearby lagoon. If you don't want to do your own cooking, charcoal grills at each site, there are awesome Disney restaurants though they are costly. The Mickey's Backyard BBQ was fun and our boys loved dancing with the characters but that is costly. You can rent canoes very inexpensively and go around the waterways. There is also horseback riding which is expensive but gives a very nice guided 1 hour ride. I did this with our oldest. Our youngest was too little so he rode the Shetland ponies which was very affordable and he LOVED it :-). There are tons of activities at the campsite to keep you busy or just relax in the beautiful park. There's also always something going on at one of the Disney parks you forget you are surrounded by. You can use their transportation to get there or drive and park for free.
