I am the mother of two boys who both started as Tigers in Cub Scouts. My oldest son is now a Boy Scout and my youngest is a Webelos I.  I had no tent camping experience when our oldest started. I hadn't camped since I was a young kid and then it was in a pop-up with my parents handling all the work part of it. The many great dads in our pack were excited to see a mom willing to learn about scout tent camping. They laughed because I always wanted to know ahead of time about restroom and shower facilities available at each site.  I soon learned in befriending other scout moms, they all wanted to know the same things but were afraid to ask.  This gave me the idea to create this blog to hopefully encourage moms leery to start camping to give it a try.  E-mail me for other items I suggest to help ease you into camping such as a Thermacel.  No girl likes the smell and feel of bug spray, but we don’t want bugs on us either ;-).
